About Us
Knowledge for Life. Skills for the Future.
At UTC Derby Pride Park, we inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists and healthcare professionals, preparing them for the careers of today and the opportunities of tomorrow. By combining academic excellence with specialist technical education, we equip students with the knowledge, skills and real-world experience they need to succeed in higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
As a purpose-built specialist University Technical College (UTC) for students aged 13 to 19 (Year 9 to Year 13), we offer a distinctive educational experience through our specialist pathways in Engineering and Health & Life Sciences. Our approach brings together academic and technical learning, helping students develop the confidence, industry insight and employability skills needed for their future.
Through partnerships with employers, universities and industry professionals, students gain valuable real-world experience that brings learning to life and prepares them for successful futures in a rapidly evolving world.
Our Vision
Our vision is to inspire and develop ambitious young people, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to achieve their goals and make a positive contribution to society.
Through a unique blend of academic learning, technical specialism and employer engagement, we prepare students for successful futures in university, apprenticeships and employment. We are committed to developing skilled, professional and enterprising young people who are ready to make an impact in engineering, health, science and technology-based industries.
Preparing Students for Success
Our success is measured by the destinations our students achieve. Whether progressing to university, securing a degree apprenticeship, undertaking a higher apprenticeship or moving directly into employment, we are committed to helping our students achieve their ambitions.
Located on Pride Park, at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant centres for engineering, manufacturing and innovation, our students benefit from strong links with leading employers, universities and industry partners. With industry-standard facilities, expert teaching and meaningful employer engagement, our students leave with more than just qualifications. They leave with the skills, experience and confidence to thrive in their chosen career path.
