Employer-led learning is at the heart of everything we do at UTC. Through partnerships with leading engineering, manufacturing and healthcare organisations, universities and industry professionals, students who study with us gain valuable real-world experience that brings learning to life and prepares them for successful futures.

Working with major employers including companies such as Rolls-Royce, Toyota, JCB, Network Rail and the NHS, students develop industry insight alongside the technical, professional and employability skills needed to thrive in their chosen career pathway.

Bringing Learning to Life

Students are exposed to the world of work through a wide range of employer engagement activities, including:

These experiences help students develop essential employability skills including communication, teamwork, leadership, organisation, problem-solving and time management, while helping them understand the opportunities available within engineering, health and life sciences sectors.

Employer-Led Projects

Employer-led projects are a key part of the UTC experience. Working with organisations from the engineering, manufacturing and healthcare sectors, students are challenged to solve real-world problems and apply their learning in professional contexts.

Projects are designed collaboratively with employers and form an integral part of the curriculum. Students receive project briefs, work on solutions and present their ideas back to employers, receiving valuable feedback from industry experts. This helps students build confidence, develop professional skills and gain a deeper understanding of how learning is applied in the workplace.
