Cyber Extended Project Qualification
CyberEPQ (Cyber Extended Project Qualification) is a Level 3 qualification worth up to 28 UCAS points, equivalent to an AS Level. Designed for students interested in cyber security and digital technology, it provides an opportunity to explore one of the fastest-growing industries while developing valuable skills in research, project management, critical thinking and communication. The qualification is designed to fit around your existing studies, making it an excellent addition to A Levels, T Levels or BTECs. By completing the CyberEPQ, students gain industry-recognised knowledge and membership of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec), providing a valuable stepping stone towards careers in cyber security, computing and other digital sectors.
Course structure:
- Phase 1: Cyber Security Learning Modules
Complete nine online modules covering key cyber security concepts, industry practices and emerging technologies. - Phase 2: Project Planning
Develop and propose an independent project based on a cyber security topic that interests you. - Phase 3: Independent Research Project
Research your chosen topic in depth, produce an extended written project and deliver a presentation on your findings.
Assessment
Assessment is through a research journal, production log, extended written project and presentation, allowing students to demonstrate both their cyber security knowledge and independent research skills.
