UTC Derby Pride Park students are celebrating their GCSE and technical results.

Students who study with us complete technical qualifications in engineering or health and life sciences as well as GCSEs at the technical school for 13 to 19-year-olds based on Locomotive Way, Pride Park.

This year’s results have seen students achieve:

  • 100% pass rate in Engineering Design technical
  • 100% pass rate in Health and Life Sciences technical

Students are now progressing onto a number of different destinations with many remaining at the UTC for sixth form. Numerous students have also secured apprenticeships within the engineering sector, including with our employer partners.

Lee Kirkwood,  Principal of UTC Derby Pride Park, said: “These results are a fantastic achievement for our students.”

“Whilst they study with us, young people also benefit from a well-rounded education and achieve the technical skills that employers need.

“I’d like to wish them all the very best with the next stage of their education and training.”

At UTC we are technical school backed by employers.

Organisations supporting us include Alstom, Rolls-Royce, Toyota, the University of Derby and Joined Up Care Derbyshire, which comprises health and social care employers in the region.

Students learn from industry experts in specialist high tech facilities and complete GCSEs and A Levels as well as technical qualifications that are equivalent to A Levels.

Employers have shaped the curriculum by setting industry projects and providing work experience and placements.
